Weight Management and Smoking Cessation Workshop

On 5th and 6th October 2012, a workshop on Weight Management and Smoking Cessation has been conducted at Kuliyyah of Pharmacy. Attended by pharmacists from all over Malaysia, lecturers and undergraduate pharmacy students, the workshop was meant to prepare the participants for a better service in clinical and community pharmacy. We are waiting for this program to be held again in the future.

SRC General Election 2012/2013

After waiting for almost a week for re-election session, the result of SRC General Election was finally released on Tuesday, 2nd October 2012, 9 pm at Grand Hall, witnessed by the attending students and staffs.

This election session would be part and partial of historical event for pharmacy students themselves, as well as IIUM community. Since the representatives of the previous tenures won the seat uncontested, this year of pharmacy students have been given chances to cast the vote using both system, e-voting and manual voting.

Out of four candidates, two of them got the highest votes. They are Farah Atiqah Bt. Mohd Husni, 3rd year student and Muhammad Zulhilmi B. Mohd Razali, 2nd year student . They will represent Kuliyyah of Pharmacy together with the other 11 representatitives from the respective kuliyyah. Wish them the best for the service!

“Boost Your Spirit” Motivational Program

On 29th September 2012, under Education and Professionalism  Bureau of IPha, appointed Project Manager, Mohd Ashraf Bin Nor Mohd, managed a motivational program entitled “Boost Your Spirit”. A total number of 110 participation consisting both males and females students of Sekolah Menengah Sains Haji Ahmad Shah, Pahang, have made it a success event.

A whole-day program that was started at 8am until 5pm was divided into 3 sessions. It began with motivations and briefing about IIUM systems volunteered by about 20 facilitators from Kuliyyah of Pharmacy followed by the laboratory demonstrations and group bindings.

“I want them to get benefit in every input that we, the facilitators try to convey so that they, themselves will able to initiate the build of self-confidence, and make self improvement mentally, spiritually, physically and the most important, religiously,” PM said.

Although they have had a quite packed tentative, the organizer have received positive feedback from the students saying that the event is superb. This is supported by the cooperation of the students themselves and accordance with high team work and good communication skill that make it all possible.
