Visualization in Participatory Program by MOH

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim..

In achieving the enhancement of the future “Know Your Drug” Campaign, Pharmaceutical Service Division, Ministry of Health, MOH made their benefits collaboration with Malaysian Pharmacy Students’ Association, MyPSA. Through this cooperation, they came out with a new and a unique module from Germany named “Visualization in Participatory Program” technique to identify the issues pertaining to medicine such as their side effects, consuming steps, precautions and etc.

To accomplish the main objective of this collaboration, Public Relation Bureau of IIUM Pharmacy Student’s Association, IPhA organized the first meeting with MOH on 26th May 2014 by recruiting a focus group which consist of students from every kulliyyah in IIUM Kuantan Campus; Kulliyyah of Pharmacy, Kulliyyah of Medicine, Kulliyyah of Dentistry, Kulliyyah of Nursing, Kulliyah of Allied Health Science and Kulliyyah of Sciences. There were a total of 20 participants; 10 representatives from Kulliyah of Pharmacy and two representatives from the other kulliyyah.

In the beginning of the program, eight speakers from MOH did an introductory session by providing concise explanation about the objectives of this program. This workshop was divided into seven sessions which discussed about the common problems faced by patients, sources of medicine and counselling, patients’ perception to medicine, courses of problems and how to solve them.

Hopefully, this program can be carried out more in future in intention to have better understanding and hence, giving right information to the public about proper consuming of medicine and any matters and issued associated with this field.
