National Pharmacy Sports Carnival 2011

Posted: January 31, 2011 by I-Press in Event, This and That

I guess you were aware of what happened yesterday. We had a pretty big victory in USM, Penang ! Alhamdulillah. A total of nine universities took part in this National Pharmacy Sports Carnival, which took place 29-30 January 2011 with the theme creating a healthy, dynamic, future pharmacists.
I think it was a tremendous initiative when USM brought the traditional games along with the modern games. Thus, the player capabilities in playing both games can be tested. It was a relief when the total points for traditional games were excluded because our players were-not-so-good in playing traditional hehe. Well, here’s the result.

Gold – Netball, takraw, volley ball male, ping pong male double
Silver – Futsal male , Futsal female, volleyball female, badminton male ( single & double ), ping pong single

As u can see above, the recognition of the overall champion is depends on the gold medal count instead of total medal count. That’s why AIMST is ranked higher than UiTM. Disappointingly, if the organizer of previous NPSC was using the same system, beyond doubt IIUM Pharmacy was the champion because we did win many gold medals last year. Nevermind, Let bygones be bygones. We are already the champion. Yeah ! Hopefully the ranking system will be standardized later on to avoid any conflict. The Dean School of Pharmacy, USM officiated to closing ceremony and presented the trophy to our representative, Hafiz and IIUM was announced as the next host for National Pharmacy Sports Carnival. Hopefully we can seize the trophy in consecutive seasons, InsyaAllah.

Posted: January 30, 2011 by I-Press in Event

Assalamualikum Ipha-ians!! Sorry for the delayed updates on the Interkulliyyah 2011. Well, for a start I bet everybody are aware of KOP got the 3rd place out of 6 participated Kulliyyahs which apparently the same like it was last year *at least we maintained our rank*. Undoubtedly Ipha-ians are hectic with studies yet we still managed to indulge in sports and nailed some of them. Nothing much to tell more on the event per se, but Ipha does hope that for the upcoming IKG more supporters would come to cheer for the participants and behave accordingly. Check out the results on the media above.

.:PHARMILY DAY 2011:.

updates…

well, yesterday was held one of the Ipha’s annual events, the 2011 PHARMILY DAY. It was held in the Pusat Rekreasi Air Balok on the crispy 15th January morning. Event was a smooth sailing, but few minor tweaks are needed for Rx10 to do. A token of gratitude to Rx9 who were working around the clock to make the 2011 pharmily day happened. The event was bloomed with lecturers’ and staffs’ attendances, Mdm Siti Halimah Bux, Dr Kausar, Dr Maryanto, Dr Muhammad Taher, Dr Zainol, Dr Che Suraya *with her cute kids* and others who are not mentioned here. The event was officially launched by an inspirational speech from Dr Kausar. Million thanks to students who were coming to enjoy and most importantly to get to know each other and strengthened the ukhwah of Rx’s family. Games were fun especially the sukaneka, there were few hilarious moments captured. On the afternoon, fear factor and tug of war took place. Fear factor was a rapid fun; frogs, Cendol, raw eggs etc. these all things described the game per se. Most of the participants wanted more cendol coz it turned out to be delicious rather than a gross. Then, the tug of war which was a rope pulling game between houses among the brothers. This was the last game which created acute injuries, many who participated had a leg cramp, lucky the first aid kit was always there when needed. As usual the last event would be the price giving ceremony which was completed by our respected Mr president Bro. Syamil. Students were allowed to disperse once the photography session took place. Hopefully the Rx10 will bring more surprises into the upcoming Pharmily day *please no more beach after this, we had enough..hahahah*
